Newstead House has watched Brisbane change for almost the entire life of the city. Built in 1846 as a modest colonial home, it was enlarged over time into the grand riverside residence you see today.
Its rooms and verandahs offer a tangible connection to nineteenth-century Brisbane, but the setting is part of the experience too. The house sits where Breakfast Creek meets the Brisbane River, surrounded by Newstead Park — a pocket of history within one of Brisbane's fastest-changing inner suburbs.
