Walk across the river to UQ on Brisbane's bus, bike and pedestrian bridge.
The Eleanor Schonell Bridge connects Dutton Park with the University of Queensland at St Lucia, but deliberately leaves ordinary private cars behind. Opened in 2006, it was designed for buses, pedestrians and cyclists, creating a very different kind of river crossing.
Walking it gives you broad views along this quieter reach of the Brisbane River and delivers you directly into the UQ campus — making it easy to combine with the Great Court, museums or Brisbane's famously slow Pitch Drop Experiment.
