Meanderly — Every city has a story — Brisbane Australia

Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Welcome to Meanderly.

Meanderly is a free city-exploration experience designed to help you get to know Brisbane through its places, stories and experiences.

By using Meanderly, you agree to these Terms of Use.

1. What Meanderly is

Meanderly helps you discover places, stories, activities and points of interest around Brisbane.

It is intended for exploration, curiosity and enjoyment.

Meanderly is not an official tourism service, navigation service, emergency service, historical authority or professional advice service.

2. Using Meanderly

You're welcome to use Meanderly for your own personal, non-commercial exploration of the city.

Please use Meanderly lawfully and sensibly.

You must not deliberately interfere with the operation or security of Meanderly, attempt to gain unauthorised access to its systems, misuse its content or use the service for unlawful purposes.

3. Exploring the city safely

Meanderly may encourage you to visit real-world locations.

The city is not a controlled environment. Roads, paths, buildings, businesses, construction, weather, opening hours, accessibility and other conditions can change.

Always pay attention to your surroundings and use your own judgement.

Do not trespass, enter restricted areas, ignore signs or directions, take unnecessary risks or access somewhere simply because it appears in Meanderly.

Meanderly does not guarantee that a location is accessible, open, safe or suitable for you to visit.

4. Maps and location information

Maps, markers, distances and location information provided through Meanderly are intended to help you explore.

They should not be relied upon as precise navigation or safety information.

Locations and map information may occasionally be inaccurate or out of date.

Your use of Meanderly's optional device-location feature is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

5. Stories and information

We make reasonable efforts to make Meanderly's stories interesting and accurate.

But cities are complicated, historical sources can disagree, information changes, and occasionally we may simply get something wrong.

Meanderly therefore does not guarantee that every story, date, description, location, opening time, external link or other piece of information is complete, current or error-free.

If you spot something that looks wrong, we'd genuinely like to know about it.

6. Third-party places and services

Meanderly may tell you about or link to museums, galleries, parks, businesses, attractions, government services, websites and other third parties.

Their inclusion in Meanderly doesn't necessarily mean that they sponsor, endorse or are affiliated with Meanderly.

Those organisations control their own premises, services, prices, opening hours, accessibility, websites and terms.

When you deal with a third party, their terms and policies may apply.

7. Your Meanderly collection

Meanderly allows you to mark stories as completed and save stories you want to explore.

At present, this information is stored locally in your browser rather than in a Meanderly user account.

Clearing your browser data, changing browsers or devices, or technical problems may therefore cause your collection to be lost.

Please don't treat Meanderly's local browser storage as permanent or backed-up storage.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, original material created for Meanderly — including the Meanderly name and branding, design, written content, photographs, illustrations and other original creative material — is owned by its creator and used as part of Meanderly.

Some maps, images, historical material, information or other content may come from third parties and remain subject to their respective rights and licences.

Using Meanderly doesn't transfer ownership of that material to you.

You're welcome to share links to Meanderly and use the sharing features we provide.

You may not reproduce substantial parts of Meanderly, commercially exploit its content, falsely present Meanderly content as your own, or use the Meanderly name or branding in a way that suggests an association or endorsement that doesn't exist.

9. Availability and changes

Meanderly is a project that will evolve.

Features, stories, locations and functionality may be added, changed or removed over time.

We may also need to suspend or discontinue some or all of Meanderly.

We don't promise that Meanderly will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Responsibility and liability

Meanderly is provided as a free exploration service.

To the extent permitted by law, you remain responsible for decisions you make and activities you undertake while using Meanderly, including decisions about where you go and whether a location or activity is appropriate for you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under Australian law.

11. Privacy

We've deliberately designed Meanderly to require very little personal information.

How Meanderly handles browser storage, optional location information, and information you choose to provide through the contact and feedback form is explained in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Meanderly evolves.

The current version will be published on Meanderly and will show the date it was last updated.

If we introduce features that materially change the relationship between Meanderly and its users — such as accounts, payments or user-submitted content — we'll update these Terms accordingly.

13. Australian law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude rights or protections that apply under Australian law.

14. Contact

Questions, corrections or concerns about Meanderly can be sent through our contact form.
